Turn Key Air Conditioning are specialists in air conditioning and climate control in the built environment. Working with end users, consultants and other building contractors, Turn Key Air Conditioning offer a comprehensive design, installation and maintenance service on all aspects of air conditioning and commercial & residential temperature control systems.
Many people already know about highly efficient ground source heat pumps that use the temperature differential between the surface and subsoil layers to generate heat. As it represents a newer technology fewer people are fully aware of Air Source Heat Pumps which rely on the same basic principles. Ecodan Advanced Heating air source heat pumps have been developed by Mitsubishi to convert low grade energy from outdoor air and convert this into useable energy used for domestic heating. Ecodan air source heat pumps can even work when the outdoor temperature is as low as -25°C, and from every 1kW of electrical energy fed into the system the heat exchange system converts this into 3kW of heat energy.
Air source heat pumps are easy to install and are far cheaper than ground source heat pumps in providing hot water and heat. This makes them a much better option for heating many homes. The Ecodan air source heat pump system has a box that is fitted to an external wall. The technology is similar to the vapour compression cycle in a domestic refrigerator. The main components are the compressor, an expansion valve and two exchangers for evaporation and condensation. As the refrigerant is colder than the outside air, the air moves from outside to the refrigerant, which then evaporates. This vapour is transferred to a compressor where it reaches a higher temperature and pressure. This hot vapour now moves to the condenser where it emits heat as it condenses.
TKAC have offices are engineers based all around the UK. For more information on the air source heat pump, and how this energy efficiency technology can be used as part of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Scheme check out the Turn Key Air Conditioning website or contact TKAC on 0191 438 7410.
